Community invited to talk about Waikoloa solar energy project
EDF Renewables has announced the proposed Waikoloa Village Solar project is entering the next phase of Hawaiian Electric’s procurement process for renewable energy generation. This is one of the Solar and Storage projects on Hawaii Island that was selected to begin Power Purchase Agreement negotiations with Hawaiian Electric. Waikoloa Village Solar is a 60MW solar photovoltaic facility with a 240MWh battery storage system.
EDF Renewables is expanding its community engagement activities, continuing discussions about community priorities, and exploring ways to partner with Hawaii Island communities throughout the life of the project, and so invites the public to a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday to learn more about the potential project, meet the team members, and discuss the project. Please bring your questions and feedback. Due to COVID-19, this public meeting will be hosted on a virtual platform through the project website at www.WaikoloaVillageSolar.com.
